Make It & Take It

When: Wednesday, September 14, 2011

Time: 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Where: PTR Center (412 S. Main)

What: Join your colleagues at a meeting which will introduce you to one of the best-kept secrets in Wichita—the PTR at 412 N. Main! You can attend for the entire time or for just long enough to find out what is offered. You can come back anytime during the Center’s regular hours. We will have one or two games that you can make or bring your own flashcards or games for laminating (only 25¢ a foot).

The PTR, which is operated by the Wichita public school system, is like a “candy store” for an educator because it is so full of colorful items to teach with and services which enable one to create teaching aids. To use the services, one does not need to be employed by the Wichita school system or even live in Wichita. The only criteria is to make something for an educational purpose. Parents, grandparents, pre-school teachers, private or parochial school teachers or helpers, Scout leaders, Sunday School teachers all use the PTR Center. Entrance is free, and the fees for items (like colored folders, game markers) and services (laminating, binding) is extremely low. PTR Center’s phone #: 973-5141. Go to www.pianimation.com or www.composecreate.com for good ideas. Check out the links that are on the websites.
